About the Book

The southern part of the Russian Far East boasts a rich diversity of flora and fauna, particularly when it comes to birds. More than 500 bird species have been recorded in Primorsky Krai. Many of them can be spotted in Vladivostok, the region's capital, as well as in its surrounding areas at various times of the year, frequently during migration periods.
This book provides a brief overview of the diurnal birds of prey inhabiting the southern Russian Far East (South Primorye). It covers which species can be found within Vladivostok and its surroundings, and the best times to spot them.
Spanning around 400 pages and featuring over 500 photographs, the book offers bilingual (Russian and English) scientific descriptions of 27 diurnal raptor species found in southern Primorye.
